1 kg

250 ml

lime juice

2 large

onions

4 cups

yields 5 litres.

Serves 10 to 20, depending on how greedy appreciative your guests are.

Scatterlings of Africa

Scatterlings of Africa
Johnny Clegg & Savuka
(album: Third World Child)

Copper sun sinking low,
Scatterlings and fugitives,
Hooded eyes and weary brows
Seek refuge in the night.
They are the scatterlings of Africa,
Each uprooted one.
On the road to Phelamanga
Where the world began.

I love the scatterlings of Africa,
Each and every one.
In their hearts a burning hunger
Beneath the copper sun.

Ancient bones from Olduvai,
Echoes of the very first cry.
Who made me here and why,
Beneath the copper sun?
African ideas, African ideas,
Make the future clear,
Make the future clear.

And we are scatterlings of Africa,
Both you and I.
We're on the road to Phelamanga
Beneath this copper sky.
And we are scatterlings of Africa
On a journey to the stars.
Far below, we leave forever
Dreams of what we were.

We are scatterlings of Africa
You are scatterlings of Africa.

Don't argue amongst yourselves
Because of the loss of me
I'm sitting amongst yourselves
Don't think you can't see me
Don't argue amongst yourselves
Because of the loss of me
I haven't gone anywhere
But out of my body

Reach out and you'll touch me
Make effort to speak to me
Call out and you'll hear me
Be happy for me

[ullean pipe solo]

Don't argue amongst yourselves
Because of the loss of me
I haven't gone anywhere
But out of my body

Reach out and you'll touch me
Make effort to speak to me
Call out and you'll hear me
Be happy for me

Reach out and you'll touch me
Make effort to speak to me
Call out and you'll hear me
Be happy for me

Barrage
(album: Barrage)

May there be tranquility on earth
On water
In fire
In the wind
In the sky
In the sun
On the moon
On our planets
In all living beings
In the body
In the mind
In the spirit
May that tranquility be everywhere and in everyone
